The Bob Does Asia

Hey everyone. I was just looking back at some pictures of our last family trip to Japan and found this picture of the Bob. Here's to the Bob!

Thank you for the great update on Bob. Suzie and I are thrilled to read about his progress. My dad was a stroke victim and I witness the miracles the Lord can perform with the support of prayers, loved ones and therapy.

I will be in California starting May 1 and will be able to visit Bob and hopefully you in person.

Our love to you and prayers for a full recovery,

    Doug & Suzie

PS. By the way, the profile picture we used for the blog is from Kyoto. We were in Japan in March 08 for our youngest son’s temple wedding to his wife Yuko. They had been married in the states and Yuko’s mom wanted a traditional wedding that took place in Nara.

  2. Hi Sharon and Bob,

I just learned of Bob's stroke. I am truly sorry to hear of this, but any two people can come out of this, it is you two.

My prayers are with you both and Bob you are in my prayers every night now.

Always thinking of you and I will follow your progress on this site.

  3. Hello Sharon and Bob,

I am getting sooooo many calls about Bob and am sending the folks to the blog. These folks have such wonderful words to say about Bob and such genuine feelings of care and hope for him. I've put you and your family on a prayer list and I've read on the blog that prayers are being answered! Yay! Thanks to your nephew for setting the blog. It has raised so much hope for those that get to read the good news daily.

I'm taking care of all his dissertation students, so tell him not to worry. Mike has done a wonderful job with Deb Gordon. She had all kinds of praise for him. The students and Bob are in good hands!

    Always,

    Mary Townsend ;-)

  4. Dear Doug, Suzie,Julie and Mary,
Thank you so much for your messages. I haven't been able to share with The Bob yet because I can't get on the internet at Loma Linda. I'll have to get one of those portable airport things so I can access hot spots. I'm sure that he'll appreciate your thoughts as much as I do.

    Doug and Suze,
Bobbo loves you - you know that! Just keep praying for his recovery. I'll give you the signal when he's up to visitors at rehab. They don't want him to fall off the wagon, and you know how you are. :)

Julie, how wonderful to hear from you! I'm back at County Office of Ed. Who knew? And thank goodness for that! They've been gracious with this. Bob will be happy to "hear your voice" again. Thank you for taking such good care of us back when we were Pulliam Group. We appreciated your kindness then, and now.

Mary, thanks for taking care of Bob's students. Mario called and spoke with my nephew. He was soooo worried about changing chairs and having Bob think he was leaving him in his time of need. Please tell them NOT to worry. If Bob could, he'd tell them to get over it, do a good job, and get done!

    Warmly,

    Sharon

  5. Sharon,
We seldom say I Love You until it smacks us in the face.
We do love you so and want you to know. We are praying really hard for a complete recovery.
Someday we will look back on all of this and realize the why's of it. Right now it's hard to have the foresight to understand but I know God is in control and we will just have to leave it in His hands until all the questions can be answered.
    Suzie
